Maybe, just maybe, I scored my second ever cameo SMS Lincoln.

It has roughly the same degree of contrast as the MS64CAM just graded, but slightly better surface preservation.

Oh, and here's the coin in MartyVision™:

    Nope.
  • It looks like a nice coin regardless of if it gets the designation or not. I hope it does!

If it goes to PCGS, NO WAY!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

The reverse is better than most. Very nice.

very frosty devices, nice overall appearance ........why wouldn't it go cameo image ? I've not sent any SMS coins in, but this looks like a cameo to me.

Russ are those hairline scratches above ONE CENT on the reverse, a slight rub or just a scratch on plastic ?
  • Right now, I'm thinking it won't happen. I believe as of late PCGS has been tough on CAM. Russ, I guess you'd know better than any of us though on this issue.image
Everything I write is my opinion.

    Looking for alot of crap.

Nice coin - looks like it has a very good shot at PCGS cameo.

The reverses usually are easier to get the cameo designation, its the obverses that are tough. The four or five 1965 cams that I have handled all exhibited very reflective mirrors with medium contrast.

The 1965 is very difficult to find in cameo - far easier than the 1966 and 1967.

I'll guess SMS 65 Cameo on this one. (with a shot at 66 )

    Yep. Pretty common on these.

Hairlines. Also pretty common on these. The MS64CAM I just made also had both the planchet flaw in the cheek and the hairlines in the lower obverse fields. But, in addition it had more problems in the obverse fields than this one.

For SMS coins, they are beyond tough right now.
