Has anyone ever received an unsolicited email like this (thru eBay's email)? I have no idea who this person is. Is it a scam?

<< <i>is it sent to you?....specifically?...............is your REAL name in the recipient line of the e-mail?..................if not, it's BS. Usually, the bogus ones are sent to"'undisclosed recipients". >>
Yes to me specifically. It was sent to my eBay email account and it is a legit eBay member name. I get bogus emails daily, but they are always sent to the email address I have listed with eBay, and not through eBay's system.
Doesnt sound like a scam since hes not asking for personal info, just sounds like a Newbie needing help with setting up ads and selling. S
I am Looking to Buy California Tokens too.

From a legitimate estate auction?
If the message came through ebay he might be just asking for help.
You can send him an emal without your email address appearing to him.
I personally would send him a email & see what he comes back with.
"We All Started Somewhere" Do You Remember?
Perhaps a legitimate "as is" estate auction?
When I contacted that person in the U.K to let them know that this seemed fraudulent , or at least not above the table, this person contacted me back only to say " it is no fraud, just contact b.....k@aol.com
Now, I think someone asking you HOW you do something in contrast to "how can I get something from you?" are two totally different approaches by strangers. Yet there are holes in both that reek of thievery.
I doubt very highly that you are being scammed, though someone may be wanting to learn how to make their ads look "legit" in order to scam someone else. If someone is "new", they usually aren't capable of handling the criteria which is necessary for submission of said coins to PCGS, so I am not sure they are being honest.
After all, if one has the ability to follow the instructions the "correct" way to submit coins to PCGS, one would think that one could easily handle listing those submitted coins for sale on ebay. So that kind of triggers my senses to think WHY ? why would a stranger contact someone ?
Let's break down his first sentence and analyze it.
He says: " hi, I don't know what you do with the coins..." and then he ends his contact with : "... but I am interested in selling them" well it sounds to me like he would just love to have your email address so he might sell your coins, doesn't it ?
Hey, I will pick a strangers brain if I think I can gain knowledge for free. I have walked straight up to multi millionaires and asked them "HOW" and give it to me in a couple sentences as to HOW I can be successful. What are the "KEYS". What are the traps or snares along the way ?....I guess it may not be you who is getting scammed, but I don't have enough information from this person's letter to determine if they are a scammer or not. Sorry, I have to reserve judgement , but, when I have DOUBT..... I just DON'T DO IT.
P.S. The reserve wasn't met on the Sacagawea ($5,100). My bid ? : $2975..... and to think I could get one for that price from a stranger in the U.K. just sounds TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE , don't you all think ?
With all that said, I think I would steer clear instead of being a good samaritan here.
