Red Lincoln Cent--Grade Help Please.

All your comments are welcome. I have a bunch of these and some are like this, some could be a bit better, and some have more marks. Would they this date be worth digging through the ones I have and sending a few in for certification?

Yep MS64 or 65 at best, good full strike and color but far too many hits/nicks to be worth slabbing IMO.

63/64 The obverse has to many nicks but the reverse looks nicer.

MS64 Rd all day long.
At a cost of $14 per coin, I would not submit. Book value doesn't warrant grading and it is not rare enough, either. Now if you want to have it graded to preserve it, then it is well worth it. In time (and a long time), you might recover your investment for encapsulation, but for now, it looks great RAW and since it kept so beautifully for this long, I'd put it back where it was

I agree with 64RD. I have a beautiful 72/72 that I submitted to PCGS that came back with that grade. The "Dings" knocked it down.

Great color and luster. I could see it in a 65 slab, but I'd conservatively grade it 64.

I agree, 64 or 65, because of the ticks. I believe submitting is a cheap learning experience. Buying a 1942d or two in 65 and 66 may not cost much more than a $18 submission fee either, and with 2 68's graded by pcgs, a 67 should be reasonable. Have a comparable in hand is helpful.

You all are fairly nice, I would go MS60-maybe 63.

Those nicks are like search lights to me. What does the coin look like under regular white light? I'm curious if these would look more brownish.
