Looks like MS66 (great surfaces) and MS64 respectively.
Is that a die crack running through the Buffalos head on the type 2?
yes crack across buffalos head on type 2 and the type1 has a couple small cracks through L in Liberty and across the front bottom of the hair.

Note the filled mintmark on the type 1. That is common.
I agree that 63 is just a tad too harsh for the Type 2. It does show weakness mostly to the rear leg, but is a rather nice coin.
