<< <i>Anybody heard of this "Gallery Grading Company"? >>
They began operaions earlier his year. I have seen three different slab varieties. The first was a fairly standard generic slab shell. these are rare. The second and third vaieties are seriously weird. The third one is the one they use for their currency slab. It is simply a standard currency sleeve with the label stuck to he inside of the holder and then the top edge sealed by melting it by pressing a hot piece of metal to it.
The second slab type though is the truly weird one. Th coin is made of three layers of plexiglass. The coin is placed in a hole in the center layer and then the outer layers are glued to it. THEN the rectangular slab is cut from this plexiglass sandwich using a bandsaw and the edges are roughly ridged using a hand file. This is the slab style usually seen which is strange because this slab type would be much more expensive to produce than the generic shell would be.

I've been seeing a lot of this GGS stuff lately. So nice to see it commands such healthy premiums in the marketplace.
You know, 11 cents just doesn't buy a whole lot of morgan these days.....
I thought good ol' Martha got spanked by eBay for the spamming thing. I guess it's time to report him (or her) again.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
