As part of the celebration every item is 99 CENTS with NO RESERVE. As another part of the celebration the cost of SHIPPING ACTUALLY GOES DOWN THE MORE ITEMS YOU BUY --so be sure to check out my other auctions.
I joined eBay on Oct 28, 1998. That could have been about six months earlier, but I didn't believe my online friends when they were pimping the site as the best new place to find coins.

Since everyone is putting in their dates, mine has been nwcs2 since May-14-99 though I knew about it about 2 years earlier. Just didn't bother with registering.
July 10, 1997 here. I used to sell coins on another board before that- might have been the old www.collectors.com site? Can't remember the details. At first, I did better on the other site because there were no listing fees, and there was a lot of competition for the few coins listed.
He may have been on for ten years, but he's only used that ID since 2000. I've used the same ID continuously since November 27, 1998. Also, what's up with this:
<< <i>As part of the celebration every item is 99 CENTS with NO RESERVE. As another part of the celebration the cost of SHIPPING ACTUALLY GOES DOWN THE MORE ITEMS YOU BUY --so be sure to check out my other auctions. >>
I guess I celebrate with every auction then, since I always start mine at 1c/NR and offer reduced shipping on multiples.
EDIT: I'm a little dubious about the dates. The first feedback he ever received was from delta15b8d on November 12, 1996. However, if you check out that ID, they're a member since April 21, 1998. Huh? How could they have left a feedback before becoming a member? I realize that feedbacks in the old days were not transaction based, but I think you still had to be a member to leave one.
I'm calling shenanigans on this guy. There's some sort of glitch in the eBay matrix. eBay's founder, Pierre Omidyar, has a start date of May 17, 1996. Also, this page indicates that eBay wasn't even eBay until May of 1996 (although it was AuctionWeb prior to that).

There appears to be a lot of that in the early days. This comment left for the founder, for example:
