Please help identify, Coin - Token?

At the top it reads "PRESIDENT USA" and on the bottom "GEORGE WASHINGTON" .
Then on the reverse it reads "FIRST IN WAR - FIRST IN PEACE- FIRST IN THE HEARTS OF HIS COUNTRYMEN- SERVED EIGHT YEARS AS PRESIDENT WITHOUT PAY"
Appears to be made out of brass. There are some dates on it but I cant hardly read them, all I can make out is- 179- these being the first three numbers.
It's probably just a gumball machine prize, but you never know.

I believe that's part of a presidential medal series given out as premiums by the Shell Oil Company in the late 1950's/early 1960's.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

I have one of those in much better condition on ebay this week. I have no idea what the heck it is either. I got it in a
large collection. I could believe the shell oil giveaway, but i can't imagine them circulating much. I've got some watchers
maybe one of them is you i don't know, but nobody has bid with a dollar start. Probably just a pos.

I've found four or five of those while out detecting.

Appropriately, the first one I found was a George Washington. image
