Getting offers off eBay

I have this set listed on eBay right now. I got an email, through eBay, from a guy in Germany who wanted to know what my lowest price off eBay would be. I told him I want to see the auction to fruition before I entertain any offers.
This is the second time in the last couple weeks that I received a request to sell an eBay listed item off eBay. The last time someone offered me $310 for a coin that had a starting bid of $320 and eventually sold for $445. Anyone one else getting more of this type of offer?
BTW, I received two other emails from the German fellow who told me the original case for the Vatican set was blue, not red. He insists the date on the case is MCMXXX (1930). It isn't, it is MCMXXIX. Anyone know for sure what the color of the case was?

One of the nice things about opening auctions at 1c is honestly telling them there are already bids and ending the auction early wouldn't be fair to the other bidders.

Just tell them "not interested; if ya wanna buy it, bid..." and you'll see that most don't bother bidding. They're looking for the cheap buy.

I have had a lot of really low ball offers for BINs, but every once in a while an offer comes along that works for me, so I do take advantage of that feature.

I don't think they're scammers so much as extreme cherry pickers. I'm pretty sure they'll cheerfully pay the pittance they offer!
