<< <i>1883-S PCGS OR NGC WORTHY MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR COIN NR! >>

Does that mean these coins WILL be holdered if submitted to PCGS or NGC? image

Seeing as how they sell other PCGS and NGC coins, and the fact that these "worthy coins" aren't in PCGS or NGC holders doesn't necessarily mean that they're not worthy of being in a PCGS or NGC holder, just not at the grade the seller would like them to be image

    Stuart:

While looking at this clowns advertising - it is miss leading- but not illegal. As long as he does not have it holdered in a PGS or a NNC type holder claiming it to be a PCGS or NGC, then he can say anything he wants for that matter. I looked at his 87-P that he is asking bookoo bucks for- the guy is definitely drinkin bad Kool Aid- I have 8 in OGH holdered 63's that look 10x better- maybe I should crack em and ask for stupid money just to pay ebay fees as outrageous as they are.

When he gets BAD, stuart- I promise you I will bust him to the fleabay flatfoots. image

LongTimeCollector and Wade: You both make fair points. Where I was coming from is that if you do an E-Bay search on PCGS, these type of guys are like spammers who get their coins included in your targetted search by including the PCGS name in the title of their auction.

I know that it may be legal, but I think that we will all agree that they are spamming E-Bay searches, in at least a misleading sort of method. To me this is very aggravating!! image

According to eBay, this is a violation of the listing terms as seen here and outlined below

    Example not allowed:

The titles "Leather Handbag, like Chanel","Leather Handbag, Chanel style", or "Leather handbag, not Chanel" are not permitted on eBay because they make comparisons between the appearance of the item being offered, a leather handbag, to a Chanel handbag.

    Example allowed:
In the description only, sellers are permitted to compare the item being offered to the functionality of one other similar product, so long as the listing is not misleading in any way as to which company made the item offered.
    Example:

"This vacuum cleaner does a much better job at cleaning ground-in dirt than Acme brand vacuum cleaners."

Per eBay's terms, "PCGS or NCG worthy" can only be used in the description, not in the title.

VAMGuy: Thanks! Your post makes a whole lot more sense, and validates my thinking that these E-Bay title listings are some type of misreprsentation, or at least a form of spamming.

IMHO, if a seller wants to violate PCGS copoyright/ trademark OR flaunt Ebay rules... Well, that's their business (and legal exposure), and not my concern.

I'm more personally concerned about outright fraud, like that crazy Marla woman.

Something about stolen coins and/or money just rubs me wrong.

Although I think that what he's doing is sleazy.

    I wouldn't buy from him.

Plus, his images suck (btw, can I say "suck"?)

I've reported all of this eBayer's auctions just last week. They move at a snail's pace.

Speaking of scammers and thieves, my money is on the seller of the 2 items below.

He previously had 2 other listings of Morgan Dollars which were simultaneously being offered by Superior, if I remember correctly. Those sales were stopped, presumably because someone reported him, but he has 2 new ones:

    scam 1?

    scam 2?
