    imageimageimage ...........REELY!!!
  • I like how they won't deal with anyone with less than 45 feedback, yet, have less than 45 feedback themselves.

if you have NO FEEBACK or LESS THEN 45 dont bother bidding as it will be removed. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter

I think this is the legitimate listing and owner of the NGC AU55 1807 $5:
    LINK

    Sacmmer's listing:
    SCAM
  • It's the same 1807- no doubt about it.

I think it's time to not only up my bid- but time to call the ebay police.
  • I sent a note: I have only 21 feedbacks, are you sure you are qualified to list this with only 42??

I'll make a report to eBay as well image

I aso like here auctions for the 1907 high relief double eagle. She ended the first auction claiming the reserve was in error.
    original auction

Then in the relisting she says that because of a lot of request she has retaken the photo using a camera. Now the image looks like garbage and is out of focus.
    relisted auction

But I noticed something interesting. The lights must have been in exactly the same places when she "took" the picture because all of the highlights on the slab from the lights are in the exact same place. (also since she specificly states that she used a camera, this implies that the last image was NOT from a camera. If that was true then the highlights on the slab would be totaly different.) All she has done is blurred the original image.
  • All of you angry people who are broke and cant afford this coin better quit harrassing this upstanding citizen. EBAY will boot you in the morning! image

If I've learned anything on this forum in my short time here, it's that I'll be VERY careful doing coin business on EBay. Thanks for the education.

My Ebay account is still active - whew!image

    Thanks to all who helped.

It's pathetic that Ebay makes it so difficult to stop scammers like this. She is still a registered user, despite the fact that Ebay had plenty of solid evidence she was using others' images for coins she couldn't possibly have or deliver. Additionally, she has done the same thing before, though on a smaller scale.

Thank God for mouth-breathing idjits like this gal... I probably never would have felt compelled to join this forum.

At least until the next idjit.

Thanks, coinguy, for getting this rolling, and all of the other folks doing the research.

I cannot repeat some of the accusations that she has emailed me, but suffice to say that they involve perverted s-x and small barnyard animals.

And here I thought that coin collecting was such a peaceful hobby.

That explains the "be careful" eMail I got from them this morning. Funny, but I thought we were all getting kicked.

Unfortunately, you will now have to watch out for: "youradick123"

Ebay account started a few hours after marla got NRU'd. Not too long after that, they purchased 5 of my items and that is ALL they purchased. Their contact information is quite funny also. It should be blatantly obvious to eBay that this account was created to maliciously attack those who worked to get marla NRU'd. I'd block this bidder immediately.

I already have to deal with the Feedback this nut is most likely intending to leave. I've been working with eBay today to make sure that this account is NRU'd as well.

    Brandon,

You need to post a new thread warning everybody about youradick123. Many won't see it at the end of this thread.

    Russ, NCNE
  • She was adamant to the very end that she had the coin in her possession. I had sent her a brief note asking how she could be selling this coin since it belongs to (i inserted the previous ebay sellers auction link)

She came back at me (all in caps of course, with lots of exclamation points) with an attack on my intelligence, and how much of a fool i am.

She swears up and down that she received the coin via next day air.

I know for a fact that "she" did not purchase it or any of the other coins "she" had listed, nor is "she" selling it for somebody else.

Doug, one of the last gold coins she listed (and which she claimed she had just gotten possession of) is owned by a major dealer, who had it listed on Ebay very recently. It did not sell. Even if it had, I don't think she'd let an $8000 item that was just sold, go for a fraction of that amount, only days later. She was also proved to be a liar about other coins she said she had.
  • Ok ok, I was just posing the question image

I do believe "she" was a scammer, and do not doubt the members here with knowledge greater than mine on such issues.

I think these "Drop Shipper" sellers are going to be a real problem in the future. It seems to have opened up a new avenue for scammers to work their scams from a third party position.

She was using our image of the 1813 $5 Capped Bust Half Eagle in PCGS MS63 in one of her auctions. They aren't exactly a commodity.

    1. She couldn't provide a picture of the coin which means she didn't have it.

    2. The dropshipper story is carp for 2 reasons.
    a. She was selling a $17,000 item for no reserve. Unless you have the IQ of a jar of peanut butter you will realize that you will be almost 100% selling for LESS than you can buy it for to ship it when it sells and ultimately losing money in the process. It doesn't add up.

    3. Her language and grammar indicates that she was being extremely defensive. (Which is indicative of wrongdoing.)

    4. eBay sure did enough research to determine she was in-fact a scammer.

Now she's back as yourajerk1234 and taking revenge on sellers who actually busted her sad scam. It's actually funny. Her grammar is just as bad in her handle as it was in the emails she sent to me.

I got 2 negs for harrassing a scammer once.

I sent eBay all of the emails explaining the revenge biding and negs and they didn't care about that.

After a week, they finally did remove the feedback, but not because of the revenge angle. It was because they couldn't verify the contact information.

So if youradick/yourajerk used legitimate contact information, the negs will stay, otherwise eBay will remove them.

This is why you need a non-selling eBay account if you are going to hassel scamers. (I have one just for this purpose) image

    Firstname: youradick
    Lastname: dickhead

Phone: XXX - 123-4567 (XXX on area code Just in case the spoof number they gave actually belongs to someone.)

Notice the 1234567 phone number. Their addy says they are in California and the phone number area code is for Oklahoma.

First off, what does "ttt" mean?

    Be gentle, I'm a newbie.

Second, good luck Brandon! Still and all, there is this subtle feeling left after outing this scammer - a subtle feeling like in that Michael Douglas movie where you see your kids' pet rabbit in a pot...

I mean, there are some seriously whacked people out there.

That's why I pack the heat.

    Just kidding.

    Or not.

Reading through this thread was like a book of jokes. It is amazing how stupid some people can be when they don't have a coin.
    She is definitely a scammer.

I was struck by the behavior similarities between "Marla" and Pam Donnelly. To wit:
    1. They both demonstrate 6th-grade level spelling.
    2. They both have poor grammar
    3. They both turn vulgar and profane when cornered.
    4. They both emerge with aliases immediately upon being naru'd.
    5. They both are brazen--listing new fraudulent items even in the wake of being proved as frauds.
    6. They both have boyfriends/husbands who are aware of their criminl activity, and in one case for sure was enabled by them.
    Sound all good to you?

IMO, those similarities can apply to about 95% of the people in this world.
