  • Hey Steven,

Glad I could make you chuckle - after all, if we can't tease "the man", then something's really wrong image

  • Hey guys,
Thought I'd just chime in and say that I am enjoying the MTG talk. I don't currently own any cards but have been thinking about investing in some again. I played a little back in college back in 1994-5 but that was revised but sold all those cards and investing a lot into Star Wars CCG (anyone want to buy a case of premiere boosters? image ) 2 years or so ago when MTG Online was out I played that for 5-6 months and quit that because there were so many card expansions out I didn't feel like learning them all. I'd go back to MTG Online if they were to add a way to play with vintage/Type I cards even though I never played with the power 9 it would be fun. If I get back into it'll probably be mint unplayed Unlimited.

So keep the talk going because it's fun to read

  • Hey Borst,

Thanks for chiming in - always nice to add new folks to the discussion. image If you do decide to "take the plunge" and start a graded Unlimited set, I'm sure some of us here would be more than happy to help you out image

  • Hi Borst.

Glad you enjoyed our discussions and finally step up to the speaker podium. I agree with Bastien and Jared that Unlimited is the set that one have a good chance to realize near perfect 10s. With a print run of nearly 5X that of Beta and the much lower prices. There must be plenty potential 10s just waiting out there to be graded. The flip side is that with such low values on many of the unc and commons, one might have to wait quite awhile before enough Unlimited cards get graded.

If you plan to go for Unlimited, aim for the OOP ones first as these have no substitutes in recent sets to protect their play usage.

The good part is, an Unlimited set vs. a Beta or Alpha set would be akin to the Mad comic strip Spy vs. Spy. Now that brings some fond memory of laughs.

  • Hey, I'll get there with the betas. Perfect 10 beta set, now that sounds good to me.
