Nice obverse die crack on that coin.

Why did I smell fish when I was looking at that auction?

It's either a hijacked account or a situation where a scammer has provided a legitimate seller with images (and no coin) and asked that the item be sold on his/her behalf, with the promise of compensation.

Does anyone else suspect that perhaps the label info on the coin was Photoshop cut & pasted onto a less than MS-67 grade Peace Dollar??

This looks like the same type of auction that I was ripped off on they have been reported for whatever good that does image you would think that e-bay would try to set this person up to catch them but they will probly just end the auction whatacreep

Sounds like a set up to both buyer and seller

WELL ... I'll let you know. I won the 79-CC for $5k and I live in Alameda, where the coin is supposedly located. So, it will be a cash deal and they will need to have the coin in hand!!! If it is for real, it is a great rip and I'll post pictures. If it is a scam, nothing lost. Wish me luck :-)

If one of you guys want to bid on the other coin, I'll be happy to play middle man for you. Just let me know!

    Fletcher,
Be very careful about meeting this person somewhere with cash, that could be the plan all along.

Fletcher, just remember don't bring a knife to a gunfightimage

Not quite the same scenario but when I lived in Vegas left the Sands casino to go get the car ( with a pocketful of winnings) was followed out, guy pulled a knife wanting the money, I refused, fight ensued I was stabbed. The problem was he didn't realize I was gambling with two off duty Las Vegas Policeman who were right behind me. To make story short I ended up with 140 stitches, he went to the MORGUEimage

I emailed the seller that I live on their island and would like to meet them and pay cash. Here is their response:

"Great,i`am out of town on buisness trip in Calgary i`ll be back by fridays morning.Provide me with your
    telephone nubmer."

So far so good ... although the English is a tad pigeon, we'll see ... I'll keep you updated.

In addition, I told him that I would be interested in buying any other coins that he had to sell image
