Alas, prices in the PCGS Price Guide are for PCGS-graded coins. Due to differences in grading standards sometimes perceived by the coin-buying marketplace, material in other holders should not necessarily be expected to sell for the same prices.
grading service of the ANA and PNG. I personally will not own coins graded by anyone but PCGS or NGC.
I should not have to explained this as anyone in the hobby knows this.
Spacewalker---I am a member of both PCGS and NGC which are both recognized by the hobby as the only grading services which you can buy coins without seeing them and knowing the grade is right. NGC is the offical

hey Spacewalker
i think DennisH is a bit closer to hitting the mark on this point. to that end, it should most certainly be explained to any collector that the grading standard of one service isn't necessarily consistent with that of another. heck, most aren't consistent with themselves----regarde/crackout----to a degree greater than 50-50 with these MS70/PR-PF70DCAM coins. NGC seems to have quite a bit more of both in their census and it's generally accepted that NGC 70's will not hold the grade at PCGS. for that matter, PCGS 70's most often won't hold that same grade at PCGS!!!!

LOL! by having blinders on and avoiding ANACS or even ICG, you are missing out on some decent coins.
I just checked the online pop reports for both services for the number of 2000 $50, $25, $10 and $5 gold Eagles that each has graded MS70. The differences are astounding:
$50 gold Eagle in MS70
NGC - 892
PCGS - 23
$25 gold Eagle in MS70
NGC - 499
PCGS - 3
$10 gold Eagle in MS70
NGC - 314
PCGS - 4
$5 gold Eagle in MS70
NGC - 7,152 (that's 51% of all the $5 coins submitted for grading!)
PCGS - 20
(edited to add the date 2000 in paragraph number two)
For the sake of being constructive, it is fair to say that eventually these 70 coins will be valuable...when we are all closer to the grave. If the coins are well cared untill then, you will see a return on investment. Otherwise, at 14,000 you are stuck a bunch of retail, overpriced goods. The only solution to this problem is to sell these coins individually on ebay where some newbie collector is sucked in by the ms/pr 70 grade. Good luck selling those at that price though. They are going on ebay for roughly 2 X spot price of gold and 10 X spot on silver.

Use your best judgement when looking at this collection and deciding if it is a bargain for you or not. I know I will get more selling them on e-bay broken into separate items.
This is a good forum and everyone should appreciate the info provided and the time to look up the pop reports and then post it.
May all the luck in the world be on your side in this effort. Really.
And please let us know how things turn out. I know I'll be amazed if even one of the four coins comes back MS70.
