New eBay Scam??? Anyone else been hit???

Today I received what looked like a "Message from an eBay Member" stating they won an auction for a laptop they had not received from me and would report it if not shipped; I never sold a laptop (#6793158957-a ligitimate auction that neded 8/11/05). After following information on all of the scams on this board and others I did not open it. Everything looked sooooo real I almost bit thinking it was just a mix-up which it may have been or someone is really getting good.

Anyone else had this happen? The screens look so real it would only take a moment of forgetting to dive in. Below is the message I received. Note; in the past when I get such a message it also shows up in the "My eBay" screen which this didn't. In any case, BE ADVISED.

Thanks,

Dave C.

Yeah I got the same one. New scam different day. I feel like emailing them telling them to stick it, but that will just show my email ad is genuine. I have just gotten to ignore the scam of the day.

If the message doesn't show up in your Ebay My Messages, its a fake. I've been getting this one for the last month.

I got that one, except it was for a Home Depot gift card or something. The fact that is was a complaint over something I never sold was kind of a dead giveaway.

I got the same one but it was for dog toys. Now, if I actually sold dog toys, I might have been fooled. I was very close to clicking on it. I'll be this one gets more people to bite than the others. Damn scammers. :

I talked to the eBay owner of the id; said it was highjacked and 100's went out. Ebay looking into it but he is not betting on any quick solution.
