eBay seller says he doesn't use Delivery Confirmation...

...even though I said I'd pay the .50 extra for it. Any guesses on why? image

    How did you pay? If its by Paypal, he's leaving himself vulnerable. If you paid by MO or check, you are vulnerable.

    If the package is under 3/4 of an inch in thickness, you have to pay Priority Mail shipping to use delivery confirmation. The rule has been in place for a while, but they're starting to enforce it now.

    He's mailing a dansco album. I would think that would meet the specs. Plus he's charging $6.99 to mail it, not including ins. or del. confirm.

    Actually, it's 1/4 inch.

    First-Class Mail® Parcels - Envelopes and small packages weighing 13 ounces or less. Applies only to boxes or envelopes measuring at least 3/4” at thickest point.
    Priority Mail® - Cost effective delivery in an average of 2-3 days.
    Package Services Parcels - Send small and large packages, envelopes, and tubes. Includes Parcel Post®, Media Mail®, Bound Printed Matter, and Library Mail.
    Standard Mail Parcels - Items weighing less than 16 ounces can be sent at discounted presorted and automation rates. Available only for pieces subject to the residual shape surcharge and mailed at the Electronic rate.
    Parcel Select® - Send large volumes of packages at a discount.

    I just checked on and I stand corrected. Don't know why I thought it was 1/4".

    The reason I know is that an ebay seller managed to slip a skinny one through his P.O. and they charged ME the difference between First Class and Priority. I could have sent it back...but wanted to see the coin.

    A packing peanut in a bubble pack mailer does't add weight and fits the requirments. Do that for coins in 2X2', Slabs make the thickness requirment with an over wrap of the packing slip.

    Just heard back from the seller after my last email and he down right refused to use delivery confirmation. "It's a waste of time and money". Was his reply, and this after I told him I'd pay for it.

    I guess I don't have any recourse but if my dansco gets lost it will be a waste of MY time and money, not his!image

    Is he at least sending it insured? If not, you're taking your chances with this one. With ins. there will at least be a signature confirmation of delivery.
    What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

    Depends on the value of insurance for signature.

    Anyway, they won't do anything until 30 days after insured mail is shipped.

    With no paypal, you have little recourse. Even with it....use a credit card then you are covered.

    Will we ever learn????
