I wish all of you near the path of Katrina luck also. It's amazing how the circular motion of these things trounces the leading edge of the land it hits out hundreds of miles and on the west side absolutely nothing(south of Houston). I also saw that oil had opened up $4.50 barrel to over $70.00 and gas prices jumped $0.20 in futures already going into tomorrow. A pretty sad thing that these futures players can take these cheap shots even before the hurricane has even done any real damage yet. image

<<A lot of people are going to die and I for one will be praying for their souls. No one deserves to die like that. It's so pretty but was poorly planned. In fact, New Orleans as we know it should never have been.>>

I have a feelng,...it's going to look like New Orleans got nuked before it all is over.
    Pray.

Venice, LaFourche and Plaquemine Parish along with Grand Isle but most of all the beautiful Crescent City are all about to be devastated. I feel just as I do at Christmas... for the very old, the lonely that have no one, the poor, the street people....just everyone. And to think this is Nature.

It's now 5:25 AM on Monday and the wind is a steady 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH. My rain gage is showing just over 2 inches. The power has been off and on several times, but is on now. The TV is saying the "real" wind will get here around 9:00 AM so don't think I'll go to the office today.
Who is General Failure, and why is he reading my hard drive?

<< <i>Let's hope and pray it makes a sharp left or right turn.

Even 10 miles off could make a huge difference in damage and lives. The Superdome may the the safest place to be around there! image >>

Looks like it weakened a bit and turned east. Sucks for those in MS, but probably spared New Orleans thousands of lives and reinsurers about $50 billion or so.
