Have you ever bought from an ebay seller who turns out to live a block from you?

It's happened twice to me now. In two different places no less? This time I'm working with the seller to buy his extras.image
Everything I write is my opinion.

Looking for alot of crap.

Nope. It would be cool to have a coin buddy so close though!

    No,

But a few years ago, I sold a 1914 Barber half once to a guy who turned out to only live about 1/2 mile up the road. Not only that he was also a member of out local coin club, but I did not know that at the time. Since then, we have become good freinds.

Not up the block but with 10 miles. Twice. Where I live 10 miles is about a block away.image

No, but I discovered that somebody on the MD Forum is from my same town and hunts the same sites as me and was in fact the person I met in a local park in 1981, who inspired me to become a serious detectorist in the first place.

I was accidentally reunited with at least three of my old pre-Internet numismatic trading partners here, too. (Who I met through the NumiNews classifieds in the old days).

It's still a small world, sometimes.

I sold a MAD comic (Number 1) to someone only a couple of blocks away. He paid cash and we both saved in the hassle and expense of mailing it.

I once responded to a personals ad, met the gal for brunch and discovered she lived on the same street three houses down.

Never. I don't think the type of coin I buy is for sale in my neck of the woods.

A couple of years ago I bought a coin from what I thought was a local dealer on ebay. We exchanged emails a couple of times and decided to meet in a local watering hole to make the exchange and he’d give me a break on shipping and insurance for it. We met and it turned out to be someone that worked for the same company, in the same building, same elevator bank, and 2 floors below mine. We recognized each other when I walk into the bar. Funny and certainly a small world.

I guy wrote me for advice with his Morgan Dollar collection. Turns out he lives 10 minutes away. We had several great conversations and have agreed to do some business (non coin related) together.

About a year ago, I bought a large cent off ebay and the seller lived just a few miles away. I offered to stop by and pick it up on my way home from work but the seller insisted I pay the postage, which was reasonalble, and he mail it. Security reasons I'll bet. No problem here, but it is too bad people have to be so cautious.
