You can pay via paypal, and there is a return policy- so perhaps it's legit...... image

Freakin' weird lookin' slab label, thought that could just be pixelation from a reduction in image size/quality.

Zero feedback seller with two-day-old account selling a valuable coin?

Could be legit, but I wouldn't wanna roll the dice.

That's probably about a $50,000 coin and the same seller (supposedly) has a 1925-S PCGS MS65RD Lincoln Cent (one just brought in excess of $50,000) up for sale on Ebay too .

A zero feedback seller offering such coins at no reserve with odd obverse images and no reverse images - SCAM!

Edited to add: My guess is that this is one of those situations where the scammer provides images and enlists someone else (who does not know better) to offer the items for sale.

I am going to try to contact the seller by phone tomorrow and see if I can find out anything.image

I would Imagine many new collectors would fall for this one; Ive seen this happen many times.. this seller has 0 feedbacks listing a $40k coin ? probally stole the image from one of the several auction firms, even though he accepts paypal.. once you pay-he's gone.. If it were legit he wouldnt sell it on a new account just opened with no feedback knowing damn well bidders are leary! image
  • I think it's this coin from a Heritage sale.

You guys are the experts. What do you think?
  • Thats why i think EBAY is a toilet, a few months back just for $hits and giggles i put 20 Mexican 50 pesos with pics for $500 a piece and had a few bidders, and one bidder was nice and emailed me and told me someone emailed him and told him not to buy coins from new users with 0 feedback, so i emailed EBAY and asked them how these roaches are able to contact my bidders and tell them to stay away? EBAY said they would look into it and i never heard back, so i took them down and closed the EBAY acct and told EBAY they could stick there flea market up their a$$, i feel bad for new users who are trying to get started if those kind of practices go on at ECRAPimage

I think Heritage should start putting their name across the slab instead of below it.

This is the same scam that's been going on for some time on ebay-stolen images and the use of "seller assistants" or "brokers" all with little feedback and no knowledge of coins (check what they've sold in the past-the ones with feedback that is.)

I first reported my suspicions on these auctions to ebay back in early May. To date, nothing has been done.
