1965 SMS Lincoln Cent I picked up today.

Set was $9 at a local dealer.

Picked up a couple other 1965 sets with cameo Jeffersons, and a 1963 set with a rainbow nickel and DCAM Frankie. The half has some friggin' milk streaks, though.

I was gonna say 64Cam at PCGS, I mean, it's Russ image.

If those mirrors clean up a bit, I think it has a great shot at cameo at PCGS.

    Nice find!!

Nice coin. It should bring a good price but would bring more without the carbon spots.

These are very tough in CAM.

In the thousands of sets I've gone through, this is the first one I've ever found that has a legitimate shot at the cameo designation. I've found all the other denominations in multiples, but never a Lincoln.

It's an MS65 at best, though. More likely MS64.

This one went MS64Cam at PCGS. Yours has more contrast.

Russ ... no reason to be mean. Just remember who slabbed a DCAM SMS JFK while you were still Desperately Seeking Jack ... image

That's true. You have slabbed 1/3rd as many as I have. image

Of course, if I did want to be mean I could point out how many DCAM Jeffersons we've each nailed. image

I am a day late in posting to this thread, but since it deals with SMS Cameo's I could not resist. Very nice 65 SMS cent Russ. If you submit it for grading, let us know what the results are.

While at the SF ANA last week, I picked up two 1965 SMS sets for $10.00 each. One set contains a cent that looks almost exactly like the one you have posted a picture of. The other set contains a second cent that looks almost exactly like the one you have posted a picture of and further contains a CAM nickel with intense even frost on the devices on both sides of the coin and with hazy fields. The haze is the type that will come off with a quick bath. Underneath I may be surprised to find decent mirrors. Hope so, cuz if the filed are decent, IMHO the coin is a lock CAM.

BTW, I am amazed every time that I see the picture of DHeath's 1965 set where 4 out of 5 coins went CAM.
