I think I'm going to change my practice of starting all my auctions at 1 cent with no reserve to starting them all at $395,000 with a submit best offer option. Who knows, I might get lucky and have someone offer full price!
Ive been to his shop. Kenny is a really nice guy. At least to me he was. I was looking to sell some lower end stuff and he said "Quite honestly, you would be better going through ebay with it. Hey, come back in a couple of years and I'll give you a job if you want one"
I dont know about Bluemoon as a company, but I can stick up for Kenny.
p8nt Kenny is a scumbag, i sent a client to him to buy a coin i couldn't get at the time, i called kenny first to let him know i was sending someone his way, and he agreed to send me a $500 fee for doing so, so my client sent the money bought the coin and pignose shipped it and he stiffed me on the $500, the coward doesn't even come to the phone when i call, yea it's my bad for not just buying the coin from him and having him send it to me, then me sending it to my client, lesson learned i guess, and i have no one to blame but myself, but hes a puke, maybe i will get lucky and run into him at a coin show one day
There is quite a history and quite a pedigree that is in the initial stages of it's development concering this numismatic property. Our consignor, who wishes to remain anonymous, has passed on the following pedigree information. Years ago a vault was uncovered in a vacant house. The owner of the coins had been living in an assisted living facility and was barely ambulatory. He was brought over by his son (who himself was in his 70's). The title on the house was going to transfer in less than two days. They simply had to get the coins out. They removed a false wall from the back of a closet to expose a room. The kind of room we all dream about. In this room was all that would fit in an extended cab full-size Ford pickup, both in the bed and in the cab. Most of the room contained BU rolls that had been collected year by year, in various denominations, for decades. While going through these rolls an entire roll of this particular Filled Five variety was discovered. The one and only! After having the entire roll slabbed at SEGS years ago our consignor began advertising to buy some more Filled Five varieties. He did purchase one coin from Tom DeLorey (of Harlan Burke out of Chicago), an uncertified BU piece, for over one thousand dollars. Many years ago we at Blue Moon Coins, on behalf of the consignor, put a SEGS MS65 on eBay and it sold for just over five thousand dollars to a noteable variety collector out of Hawaii. These coins have been off the market until just now. While they were off the market our consignor submitted the entire group to ICG, preferring their holder to SEGS. ICG downgraded many of the SEGS MS67's to ICG MS65's or 66's, and didn't even grade seven of the pieces. However this is a full accounting of all fifty one known to exist by our consignor. Statistically when one compares the rarity of this minor mint error (but extremely interesting variety) to the rarity of the 1955 Double Die, the comparison becomes very interesting. Of course, there are hundreds of 1955 Double Dies that are known to exist. Yet for this notable variety we suspect that that there is probably only a few other pieces here and there, and not a full roll. These coins are pristine, beautiful, in mint condition, and in a high state of preservation

If you're gonna lie at least do a good job.... There's 50 coins in a roll. ICG didn't grade seven, yet all 50 now appear in ICG holders. Hmmm....Mike

Goldude, I had heard about your story. While I do agree with you that he should give you the $500, is it possible that you guys had a misunderstanding? Where are you located? Maybe you could stop by his shop and talk it over.
Does anyone have the link to the thread with him taking to himself, or the spoof itself? That's hilarious, and should be standard fare for any bluemoon thread

p8nt there was no misunderstanding, i am in arizona, he is in washington, the only misunderstanding was him not sending the $500, and the coward not coming to the phone, if i lived in Washington i would go to his office and turn him upside down and shake it out of his pockets, i learned a cheap lesson, but guys like him hang themselves in the end.
p8nt <<Goldude, I had heard about your story. While I do agree with you that he should give you the $500, is it possible that you guys had a misunderstanding? Where are you located? Maybe you could stop by his shop and talk it over. >>
Giving $500 is not what it's about. Goldude brought in a buyer to Mr Kenny on a $9,000 coin and Mr Kenny stiffed him.
I believe goldude invited Mr. Kenny to stop by and discuss the situation right here but Mr. Kenny declined the offer. So why would Goldude AKA 'DUDE' need to travel from Scottsdale to Port Port ?? The deal was made in minutes and Mr. Kenny has what's known as a slow wallet.
I just sent him a message telling him that the plastic that the slabs are made of are worth more then the coins in his offer! Of course I'm exagerating but not by much!
p8nt that $500 has already cost him 100k in business, 80k i know for sure of, he was just getting ready to do a 80k deal with a guy i know in Vegas David Berkely, well little did Vilkin know Berkley did a 9k deal with me about a year ago, and i lost touch with this client because he moved, but he found my business card and called me before he mailed Vilkin the check and told me what he was getting ready to buy, most of it was junk with a 100% markup, the only thing he couldn't markup was seven 1904 MS65 libs, he was gonna sell them to him for $4,400 a piece and told him he was only marking them up 8% and Vilkin was buying them for $3,600, so he lied to this guy, so i exposed Blue Moon Coins markups and squashed the deal, that cost him 20k in commissions right there, i feel vindicated in that alone lol, and this guy in Vegas is rich and he hates liars, he is in the middle of building a website and posting it on top of the search engines about how "wonderful" Blue Goon Coins really is, i can't wait to see it (-:
Nothing beats his stories about Mercury Dime grading in his listings. I've also seen a bunch of his coins on Teletrade and thought there was a mistake in the listing price (like 25x market value), until I saw the same items with the trademark Teletrade pics up on eBay for the same rediculous prices

dealt w/ them once on an offer because his reserve was too high on ebay. Ended up getting a nice 1854 MS 62 $2.5 at wholesale. HE couldn't sell it the previous 5-10 times he had it on ebay so i got a good deal becasue I was always high bidder for it.

It was interesting looking through the 15 pages of Ebay Auctions. The 35 buck improperly cleaned 1928S Merc that was listed at 199 dropped my jaw.
And top of this when i was arranging this deal Mr.Vilkin wanted to discuss how he could get me other coins that people really couldn't track the value of so i could mark them up 100-200% and really make money, he saids he does this all the time (that should have thrown up red flags right there)so anyone buying his crap on EBAY you might want to make sure your not buying a pig in a poke
Guys. I am not sticking up for his actions towards Goldude. I really dont know Mr. Vilkin all that well. All I am saying is that he was very kind to me and actually helped me save money.

Well he had a $500 dollar cushion due to the finders fee that he didn't pay Goldude!
