eBay sellers - save yourself some grief and block this idiot "solange714". **UPDATE**

RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
Update 7.22.05: A Post Office internal trace reveals that a delivery notice for the package was left on 6.29.05. The package has not been returned to me so, according to the USPS people, it's safe to assume he picked it up.

Update part two: eBay has NARU'd the POS.

Click here to read the details about solange714.

It's a long read since I included all the eMail back and forth with this moron.

Russ, I think you overreacted with the threat comments. That being said, he was clearly in the wrong. My suggestion, kill 'em with kindness...Mike

Russ you were pretty nice to that guy. I remember 1 time when I asked you if you took credit cards and you threatened me with a shotgun.

    Blocked! What an idiot!

Seems like he pulled this before, hence the neg:
Buyer rushes to leave negative comments w/o communicating w/seller.

Russ, you aren't going to neg him?

Unfortunately I posted positive feedback when he paid. Thanks to him I'm now modifying that policy and will be checking the bidder more carefully before posting feedback. Had I done so with this idiot I would have seen a history of unreasonable behavior. He did the same thing to another forum member on a $10 PCGS Lincoln.

wow - you insured for $51 - should have told him to start the insurance claim paperwork and send it to you.

I have had some buyers 'claim' they did not receive item - on $10 items - I tell them I will refund but add to my feedback for them and say 'refunded because buyer claimed never received shipment - sellers beware'

I think some buyers are scammers and even though they got a good deal, they want a better deal

    sinin1,

Funny you should bring that up. I have a hunch that once it hits the 21 days and I can check on it through the post office that I'll find that the package was actually delivered.

But Russ, did you check to see if his package is sitting on the shelf at HIS PO? imageimage

Actually, if you ask your PO, VERY NICELY to check on the blue insured ticket, they can do an internal tracking of the item, and find out if the package did indeed land at his PO. I'll get 3 or 4 of these situations a year (thankfully the buyers aren't unreasonable idiots such as yours is here, in this situation) and when I ask NICELY, they do a tracking for me (I do remember a couple of times that they asked me to come back the next day for an update on the package when they were busy) and almost 100% of the time, the package is indeed at the customers PO, but it has been misplaced or mishandled.

  • Thanks for the heads up. Its tough hold back feedback until they leave feedback, too hard to keep track of, i do 400-500 auctions a month, its tough with no leverage, after you leave pos, you are at their mercy.

The only negatives I get are on cheap stuff, i never have a problem on expensive items. For example, a 21 morgan for $6 and they leave a negative about a scratch on the coin(visible in the photo). Or my most aggrivating one was one i got from a buyer complaining that i sent him the WRONG COLOR SHOES!! Seing how im a coin dealer and have never sold clothes on ebay that one was tough.

I am on a first name basis with my PO clerks. They are more than happy to do the above for me. I saved 2 problems that way.

I will read the link provided in an earlier post and will probably add solange to my blocked list...

Funny thing; I was looking at Sample Slabs last night and this same guy has some that I need. Oh well, don't need the hassle plus his feedback is atrocious.

Thanks for the heads up Russ.

Would someone be kind enough to direct me to the Ebay section that allows you to block bidders? I've blocked bidders before, but everytime I try to find that section again I struggle.

    Thanks!

Even though we don't sell much, I've blocked him too.

Casey, you may want to look here for this:
    "Blocked Bidder/Buyer List
Set up a list of bidders/buyers who will no longer be able to bid on, or purchase, your listings. The list will apply to all your items. You can add or delete bidders/buyers at any time.

  • by paypal rules require tracking for seller protection. he can charge it back and you are out of luck, unless you can get his signature on the other form confirmed by the post office. just shipping it insured does not protect you.

I suspect he got the package without actually having to sign for it, and wanted to turn it around on you. The only problem with the $1.30 insurance is there is no signature required, but in this case you went with the extra 90 cents to get the signature required insurance.

The sig required isn't foolproof..........I bought some darkside gold coins from a seller who sent them sig required, and I found them on my front steps, not up against the house, but on the steps when I got home.
