WOW!! First PCGS MS70 LINCOLN CENT EVER!! (For those who haven't seen it yet)

Wow, for those of you who haven't seen it yet on eBay...
Check out this auction!
This is truly a monumental achievement for whoever finally found this coin! This one's a registry set topper for sure, not that I am into spending $3000 on a 2005 cent for a registry set!
I bet that submitter let out a load in his/her pants when they looked up that submission!!! NICE!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
<< <i>It's like history being made right before our eyes. >>
Yep.
<< <i>I'm glad for the submitter, but it won't surprise me if we see a bunch more of these out of the 2005 mint sets. >>
It won't surprise me at all.

<< <i>This is already a pop 2 coin (at least as of last week) >>
Wow, thats news to me! I'm not a PCGS member so I can't look up pops, and they haven't updated any pops for the 2005 coins in the Registry sets yet. Is it already listed as a pop2 in the member's area? So it sounds like the 2005 sets must be better in overall quality?? Y/N?? Have there been any other denomination 70s pulled yet?
Editted to add: Even if more 70s continue to surface, it sure looks like this seller won the rat race!
I'm not bidding without a photo!

<< <i>Yep, somebody is forking over $2625 for a coin that will be worth half that inside of two weeks and 1/10th that inside of a year.

To jump out and spend 3 grand on something that has more potential for losing ground than gaining ground is really silly. I wonder what the pops will be in six months?
The name is LEE!
<< <i>Well,
I'm not bidding without a photo!

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
So the quality of the mint sets must be awesome this year (because of the SF?) if multiple 70s are being found for the first time yet. Has anyone else here had any awesome luck this year with the Mint Sets?
Nankraut, you made me laugh.
<< <i>Up for bid before they get it back from PCGS. >>
From the sound of things to come, this is the only way to do it! I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd one on eBay sold for 25% less than the first one. Gotta beat everyone else to the punch here!

Agreed
<< <i>Sad part about a coin like that is: Just go show it to your brother-in-law and he'll tell you that he has 10 just like it at home. He got them at the 7-11 in change. >>
IMO, it's sadder that someone thinks it's worth a few thousand bucks.

With a coin like this, you gotta keep in mind that the bidder is paying just as much for the Registry Bump as they are for the actual coin.
Obviously whoever is bidding on this cion has a pretty sizeable disposable income... and for some with a twisted psyche, being #1 is more important than having a perfect coin. IMO, that's the sad part.
