Proof sets

I have proof sets from 1956 through '63 with only two sets showing cameo. The best sets with cameo is the 1958 and '63 and the cameo is on the halves more so than the rest of the coins. Would it be worth submitting the two sets or should I just send in the halves for grading. These are loose proofs in plastic capital holders. Is it worth keeping the other sets? There does not seem to be much potential with these sets if they are not cameo.

Coins in the plastic holders are frequently hairlined- mnay people do not handle the cpoins properly when transfering the coins from the mint packaging to the plastic holders. If the coins are hairlined, they many not meet the PF/PR67 grade.
of collectors who might desire adding proofs to their sets. Nice attractive proofs could
become somewhat more in demand and are not as numerous as many believe. There
are certainly better bets from all eras of US coins.
Here in Michigan, the proof sets in plastic holders sell at a significant discount - buyers seem to want original packaging. So you are not likely to make anything on the non-cameo coins. So enjoy them for what they are.
Almost forgot, don't forget to look the sets over for varieties. Some are quite valuable (for example the 1961 Doubled Die reverse half). There is a major variety in every denomination in 1960. So check them out if you are thinking of selling.
