My newest purchase - Trade Dollar what do ya think

I just hit the BIN on this 1875-S Trade Dollar. It's in a PCGS AU58 holder and I've been looking for one just like this for quite awhile. I believe it's the same coin I bid $340 on TeleTrade last Sunday. The coin didn't sell, but it showed up on ebay with a Buy If Now price of $350. That seems like a good price after watching the prices realized for the same coin for about 6 months.

    the doctor 'thinks'............................................sweet!
  • Hi,
That looks AU53 or 50 to me with that appearance but what do I know. The color and surfaces - what happened? It looks dipped? Whats the greenish stuff present here and there on the Obverse? It looked like a photo effect but it seems to be on the coin.
Sorry, but not attractive to me anyway.

    Best,
    Billy

    Not original surfaces. Looks dipped.

What they are trying to say...

    You got stiffed.™

Edited: Actually, that is precisely the kind of coin that I would try to buy on a sight-seen basis. Frankly, I try to buy every coin on a sight-seen basis.

On a serious note, you may want to return this coin if you have return privilages. If you like it, by all means keep it and enjoy it.
