    ELIZABETH 2 SPECIMEN SETS 1960/61/62/63/64/65/66/67/68 >>

I found the item he's trying to sell rather amusing. Do these even exist?

The sets 1960-1967 do exist, in a sense. A third party manufactures cases for these dates and you just put the coins in yourself. The top set in the rather fuzzy auction picture must be 1960 (8 coins that year, ½d, 3d, 6d, 1sE, 1sS, 2s, 2/6 and 5s). I have a case for a 1961 set floating around somewhere, made by this outfit.

1968, on the other hand, yielded only two coins - the inaugural 5p and 10p coins.

    Former owner, Cambridge Gate collection.

<<Unfortunately these coins were kept in a box in a garage and toning has taken place to the underside of the coins in these sets. However, anyone with the expertise to clean them will be getting a bargain. >>
