Error Coin Value..??

New guy here , and I was curious as to what value a 1965 Lincoln with
a clipped planchet might be worth ?? The clip is what I would call elliptical ,
which starts at the O in GOD and goes down to the L in LIBERTY with just
the bottom of the L showing , and another cent fits perfectly in the clip .
Just wondering if it had any value ? Thanks for your help in advance guys! image

Just to give you a rough idea, the 2004 red book lists them at $3.00 if uncirculated. Curiously, the 2005 red book has the same text describing how the values are determined, but then doesn't have the values. Another mistake. image

An elliptical clip, if that is what it is, is worth far more than $3.00. Does the clip look like a cresent moon or a football? If a cresent moon, then it is not an elliptical clip. The football shape is the elliptical clip type.

    Do you have a picture?

What you are describing is a curved clip, not terribly uncommon on Lincoln Cents from the 1960s. From the description it sounds like about an 10% to 15% clip, which is a decent size. Depending on the condition, it should be worth a few bucks up to maybe $10 or so in BU.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.
