Nice result with my free quarterly submission - Peace dollar

I've posted this coin before and not too many of you have cared for it. The toning is so thick and multi-colored it's tough to appreciate. I love this coin and it was given to me by my grandmother, so I don't really care what it grades since I will always keep it.

I sent it in to ANACS about a year ago just to see what it would grade and it came back as an AU58. My local coin club members thought "How do they know? It's so hard to see!" Nobody likes this coin but me apparently. image It looks much better than the image.

Anyway, I sent it in to PCGS to see what they had to say about it and they've graded it an MS63! I really can't stand the size and look of ANACS slabs anyway.

    Casey,

I like it ar AU58 or MS 63.

There are many Peace Dollars that look like this and I think the blast white ones are over rated. Several in my collection look like this.

Trust me plenty of collectors like original toning, we just don't say it so we can buy these jewels cheap!!

    Nice score on your submission!

I just got my quarterly back. 1924 Peace Dollar. It came out of one of the old type sets in a frame you hang on the wall. The reverse is amazing color. Blues, Purple, Red, Green, Gold... (not in that order) Anyway, just spectacular! I sent it to NGC and they sent it back "questionable toning". I sent it in for my quarterly and PCGS gave it an MS 63. I had originally told TPN he could have a look at it as far as probably selling it. Now that I see it in the holder it just takes my breath away. So,... I'm going to keep it awhile.

I can't seem to take a decent pic of the colors. As soon as I figure out how, I'll post them.

Sorry that I forgot to list the date! It's a 1928-S.
