<< <i>Mark, is there a chance that NGC misgraded it? >>
Rob, of course there is - grading is subjective and imperfect.
But, my main point was that often, the designations (cameo, deep/ultra cameo, etc.) are just as subjective and inconsistent as the grades themselves.
A true, no-brainer deep/ultra cameo is worth a hefty premium (50% or more) over a non-cameo'd example. However, many deep/ultra-cameo's are virtually indistinguishable from cameo's. Accordingly, the premiums charged and paid for them aren't worth it.
For the record, I bid on this coin, but at a conservative level, as this is, to some extent, a sight-unseen purchase.
i now know i will never have any money when i get older and have a real job. things like this will probably ruin me and my future marriage. you'd think i'd be depressed right now, im actually smiling and staring past the computer screen....
<< <i>IF it's a legitimate deep cameo example, I'd estimate a sale price of between $9000 and $11,000. >>
"Bidding has ended for this item at US $9,001.00 " Man, I almost blew it with my estimated price range. >>
My wife just found out I bid $8,000 for this coin and she flipped her lid. Now she wants her Corian counters. Note to self: log off laptop before you go play basketball at the YMCA!

If not the price tag,the private feedback would've detered me from bidding.
I seldom trust anybody.

Think what she would've done if you won it.
