Greysheet help or some sheet help...

What's the B/A, if any listed, for a 1880-O MD in MS-62? Thanks in advance.image

My own personal rule of thumb...

Use the Bid/Ask for MS63 and the Bid/Ask for MS60. MS62 is the average between them. For example if MS60 is 45/50 and MS63 is 280/310 then MS62 would be 163/180.

This is just for a "get me close" rule of thumb. So, a plus/minus 20 would be a good ball part. This puts the range from 143 to 200. A pretty big range, but that is the downside to MS62 coins when you want to use the Grey Sheet.

The PCGS Price Guide for MS60, MS62 and MS63 for 1880-O is 55, 115, 375, respectively. Since the PCGS Price Guide routinely runs high, a value of 100 would be a better guess.

Now, here is where it gets really interesting... Why is it a MS62? Is it the strike, or several hits, or terrible luster? Is the coin a nice looking coin. A nice looking MS62 might get you closer to the 140+, but a dog will probably drop you down to 100. You can see how subjective values on MS62s can be.

80-o Morgans in 62 sell anywhere from $75-$120, on average. Depends on what they look like.
