Accented Hair Kennedys?

Anybody know how they come about?

Is this a die variety or just a full strike?

You would think that Proofs would all be full strikes.

I'd like to know.

It is a die variety. Supposedly the original proof dies were accent hair and then JFK's wife objected to the messy hair. Sooner or later Russ will come on this thread and put up a link to his web page that contains too much info on accent hairs.
