Who's your favorite television character who collects coins?

I remember on the old Dennis the Menace shows, Mr. Wilson was a coin collector. It's possible that that's where I first heard of coin collecting. As I grew up, I met many older coin collectors who were a lot like Mr. Wilson.
Do you have a favorite coin collector from T.V.?

Please excuse my interference, but didn't Mr. Wilson collect stamps instead of coins?
OOPS! I just looked it up on Google and Mr. Wilson had a collection of gold coins. Guess I'll just slink put of the room and pretend I wasn't here.

Collect for the love of the hobby, the beauty of the coins, and enjoy the ride.
Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
We all know he was in real life anyway.
It may have required some sorting....but what a collection!!

Penny Marshall has been seen at California coin shows through the years and she once appeared on a Coin World cover.
I read that Jonathan Winters also was often seen at coin show in California also.
But they did show $20 Saint in a PCGS holder.

I may own of of his coins. David Akers lists only one 1864-S gold $5 in VG in his 6 volume auction survey series of gold coins books as being part of the Menjou collection. This is an ultra rare coin and the total NGC pop is only 8. I have this coin or a similar coin. Can't actually prove that it came from his collection though. I believe his last movie was "Pollyanna" with Haley Mills where he played her grandfather. Does anyone know the total pop of this coin in PCGS?

Pop 12 at PCGS (5 in the VG-VF range). Very cool, underrated coin. 3rd rarest Liberty half eagle.

Jed collected them new fangled dollars. You know, million dollars.
The best coin show though is The Simpsons. There are repeated references to coins.
Probably Bort is a closet collector.
Correction:
Sorry, Leprechaun is not TV character.
IIRC, Mr. Wilson was very proud of his Lincoln cent collection, and showed Dennis his 1914-D Lincoln.
He explained how rare it was and blah blah.....of course Dennis got his hands on it one way or another
causing Mr. Wilson great heartache.....
I wish I could see that episode again, I'd like to see the condition of that 14-D!

Heh. There was an episode where Bart was looking for a license plate with his name and only found Bort. He asked who would be named Bort and there were like 4 Borts in the room. I believe that was when Selma took Bart and Lisa to Duff Gardens.
1. Mr. Wilson bragged about his "rare" 1919-D dime
2. Somehow, Dennis got a hold of the dime, I do not recall how.
3. In one scene they show a closup of the dime, and it is a Barber Dime!! It looked VF or so.
I do not know why I remember details like this (I was about 12 years old at the time), but perhaps it is because:
a. I looked up the value of a 1919-D dime and found out it is not very rare (of course on TV it is)
b. I thought it was pretty sloppy that they used a Barber Dime instead of a Merc, for the close-up "dime" shot.

Actually, Season 5, episode 1F09, Homer the Vigilante (aired 01/06/94) Bart's stamp collection is one of the items stolen by the cat burglar. (jeez...can you believe I know this stuff
I believe it was a Proof seated Dollar and others,
Anyone else remember this?
Do you remember the Bionic Woman with Lindsay Wagner? This was a while ago!
Well, in one episode, there was an estate that was to be divided among several people (I can't remember the details), and Lindsay Wagner said that she just wanted the stamps and coins because she collected them.
Also...
Grandpa Walton in "The Waltons" once sold a two-cent piece (they didn't mention a date) so that he could pay for John and Olivia's vacation (or was it a second honeymoon?).
Does anyone remember any of this?
