Newsman - what am I missing????

I'm reading the date on this Jordanian 5 fils (KM#9) as "1970 - 1390", but Krause only lists dates through 1387 (1967), and shows a different design 5 fils for 1970.

Where am I going wrong?

You're reading it right, Roy. That's a KM15 5 fils, and my Krause says it was made in 1970. There should be a portrait of King Hussein on the other side.

Edited to add: The best way to tell the difference with the earlier 5 fils is the earlier version has the legend in English.

Thanks for straightening me out. Must be another error from the

32nd Ed. that hasn't been corrected yet! I've made a note to check the recently issued 33rd Ed., and if it still hasn't been corrected I'll notify them.

In the 2005 32nd Ed. the picture for KM#15 is the same as the picture for the earlier KM#3, although the text refers to the head of my ham radio acquaintance King Hussein - JY1.
