Have any new coin shops opened in the past ten years?

I'm talking about real coin shops. Dealers with offices don't count. I can't think of any, but there must be a few. Name them, please.

I opened my shop in Old Town Temecula a year ago next Wednesday. Wow! Already been a year...my has it gone by fast...it is so fun and I have learned alot.

I go there several times a year. Was just there a week ago. I had no idea that there was a shop on South Hill. I'm always stuck going to Tacoma Mall Blvd. Coins ..........
How far away from the mall is the shop russ?

Never mind Russ. Google is awesome some times

I was there yesterday all he had was modern crap and proof sets from the early 50s a few morgans,said he would be bringing in some type coins in a week or so.

The last real one we had in my town closed about 20 years ago.

The only coin shop like place we have now opened up in the early 90`s and is a pawn shop like place. It isn`t dingy like alot of pawn shops but, isn`t the greatest selection either. It mainly does video games. I bought a few common coins there but, nothing more then low grade run of the mill material is what they sell for the most part. I was able to find a really nice 1857 Seated Quarter. Also cherry picked a VG 1921 Peace Dollar for $30 and is a VAM 3. Those where my two best finds there.

I can only think of one and he eventually bought out a long established location in another town and closed his original location.

You're kidding......Right??? Everyone and their brother has opened a coin shop lately.....if you havn't noticed.

Down my way thier has been no new shops, but thier have been a few re-openings and change of locations.

One or two in the SE Connecticut area. And I can't think of any that have closed in the past 10 years. I think there are a few new ones in other parts of the state too.

Two in my area. Treasure Coast coins in Port St. Lucie, and Rodelco in South Stuart (Florida). Rodelco was an "add-on" to an existing hobby shop (mostly comics/cards, some stamps). Been to both; like one, won't be back to the other.

It is interesting that even during a "coin boom" very few new shops are opening.

There's one in my town: Linkville coin. They specialize in store tokens and have some coins otherwise. They seem to do most of their business on Ebay (linkville*coins). nice people.

Not much around Chicago. Jake's closed and is now an Internet deal. Retail anything is hard, and coins is really hard.

We have a new coin shop opened last month on SE 162nd and Division in Portland, Oregon. Can't remember the name but the owner is called Lanny. Don't miss the sword shop a few doors down. This place even has battle axes!
