Some recent raw toned Morgan arrivals (Warning: Over 2mb of images)

Here are nine recent arrivals. I have over fifty others, which I will get to over the next couple of weeks. The eight 1884-O Morgans came out of an orginal bag.

Wow- you sure do like your Morgans Eric. I really like the intense colors on the 7th coin. What a thrill it must have been looking at that bag being opened for the first time in soooo many years. All look 63ish--- give or take 1.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Actually, that wasn't my bag. Someone else had it, pulled all the high grade stunners out and didn't want to deal with these. I like them and they were reasonable.

You just bought how many? Over 60? You have been busy!! I look forward to over 50 more of your pics!!

To be honest my favorite is the 87, my first impression of the 84's was that the rims are so soft and a bit beat up. I have no idea why my eye went to the rims with all the color going on. I guess I was thinking about how many miles those coins rode around in that bag over the last 120 years.

Becky, those rims are quite typical of 84-O Morgans, and what you would expect from lower MS examples. When coins are slabbed, you really can't see the little dings that so many of these have.

I guess I just never noticed before...It is really neat to see the different stikes from the same bag. Some of them have clashes, some don't. It's been fun comparing themimage

Do you have 50 more from this bag?

I received 24 from the bag. The eight you see here are keepers. I have four on the BST board, I've sold three others, and I have nine on consignment at a local shop.

How does one locate an original bag today? image

There are still original bags in private hands, usually coming out of *true* estates.

I saw 2 little old men walk into the Central States show last year with 2 bags in hand and drop them on a dealer's table.

Brand new looking Morgans they could barely carry the bags. No toners either. go figure all blast white

It all depends on how and where they were stored. A lot of the bags that came out of the Kansas City FRB had turned black. I've seen other bags opened in the mid 80s that were blast white, some were the dingy dusty color, and then other bags with the brilliant colors.
