1884-CC Morgan NGC MS 67 DMPL

Online auction house if offering the above coin, will take bid of $15,000 with premium to buy it. If it was PCGS I would jump on it. I have been very frustrated trying to cross high end Morgans from NGC to PCGS. It is blast white, and gorgeous. Advice please

    Forget what the tag says, look at the coin and ask yourself if it's a $17250.00 1884-CC. Also, if it would cross to a PCGS holder ay 67DM, it would already be in a PCGS holder IMO.

    Let someone else take that risk. If you want a PCGS graded 67 in DMPL, get one already in the holder.

    I am gonna pass. I suffer from Heritage-itus. If it could have crossed, it already would have. A pcgs 66 DMPL is only worth $5k.

    I wouldn't buy any NGC Morgan in 66 or higher for the purpose of crossing to PCGS.

    Well,ill tell ya.

    i would not buy anything NGC and pray for a same grade x to PCGS !

    A lot of the lower grade MS Morgans will easily cross to PCGS. Eric is being very fair to NGC
    by limiting it to 66's and higher. For me, any Morgan above a 64 is a crap-shoot for crossing.
    I sense another PCGS vs NGC bashing session coming on here.

    I've crossed several hundred NGC Morgans at PCGS ranging from MS62 to MS65. Every 65 I've submitted has crossed. I've had a few 64s downgrade a point, I've had several 63 and 64s upgrade a point. I crack them out and submit them raw, and I'm very selective about which ones I will try.

    I've had no problem crossing 65's and had a few 63 to 64 upgrades. One thing you better make darn sure of is that you can read typewriter letters clearly at 8 inches or more, or PCGS might call it PL. And with 66's or 67's there's a big subjective eye appeal element to grading at both services. At NGC they're called DPL not DMPL for a reason too.
