Indian cent toning...AT or NT?

I was curious if the toning on this raw Indian cent is looks natural. I'm no expert, but I have my doubts.

Being at a disadvantage from judging images. Looks like your MS 1879 cent has allot of luster and i think you might have original album toning on that injun. It looks like it has a good chance of being NT.? Looks like the green? coloration has worked itself around from the reverse rim and now creeping to the obverse rims.

Photos of bronze coins are not accurate enough to make a judgement. There is probably a good reason why it is still raw almost 20 years into the slabbing era.

I agree with BWRC.....certainly a good chance it's natural....the greens and magentas look good...the yellow center is the only thing I would question....but I have seen IHC's with that type of toning and even own one. If the price was right I would take a crack at that coin......

I have a Barber dime that could be a twin of your IHC. David Hall pronounced it "definetly original"

I just looked at one at a local dealer. We were talking about toning and he brought one he had picked up in an NGC PR65 with the star. Looked almost identical to the coin pictured above.

I think it's NT, but you should still keep your fingers crossed when you submit it.

Thanks for the comments. The coin isn't mine, but I was going to go after it but it's up to a little more than my budget will allow. *sigh* Oh well.
