Picked up a crusty Stone Mountain.....

This was just one of those coins I had to sooner or later have in my collection. It's nothing special(Older NGC MS63 holder), but this is one that I thought needed character to be what it is. Battle worn soldiers were not blast white.

The characters and details seem very well defined. Nice coin!

Kudos! Grey & a bit of dark toning(dirt) just makes me picture what the coin is about.
You want crusty, get a metal detector. If you like dirt, there's nothing like a coin that's been sitting in the dirt for decades!
This was crusty, I guess... a little bit, anyway. But I cleaned it. (A necessary evil with most dug stuff.)

That injun looks like crabs sat on it for a couple of hundred years. I agree.... that's crusty!
Sometimes the copper and bronze comes up noncrusty and really nice, though.

It was wagon-side-up when I first saw it, so for a second or two before I got the dirt off, I thought it was a Walker, because of the sun rays.
It would've been funny if it had been a Stone Mountain, instead (not that I'm complaining!). We visited Stone Mountain the day before I found that.
