So they are charging extra for the damage? I will take a screwdriver and put several really nice gouges in all of your gold coins for $125,000 any time you want.

Looks like a strike through. the guy is a little off his rocker, IMO. MS68 for a MS modern gold is about as low as they go and with a strike through "as struck" the grade seems appropriate.

They look like strike throughs. Since it is as struck, there is no reason to bady bag. Perhaps the seller is someone from ACG with a grudge?

Maybe he can get it assigned a number like "speared Buffalo"

He is clearly stark-raving mad! He thinks that PCGS is perfect and if they make a mistake, then the coins have 100x the value?

    Crazy.

This is someone with an agenda. Feels the heat of trying to sell overgraded raw material, so he must do what he can to trash PCGS.

    $4.80.

Edited to add: He has it in two categories, so make that $9.60 plus 20¢ for 10 day listing.

I'd have to agree that there is some kind of agenda going on. Cheap way to slam PCGS. Hmmmmm, who has a vendetta against PCGS? Let me think..........

    Strike thru error... image

Obviously somebody with an agenda against PCGS. I wonder if the coin might have even graded MS69 or MS70 if not for the strike thu???

Auction states 5 coins but only has photos of one coin. I'm willing to bet he overpaid when he bought it, probably sight unseen with no return policy, and is plain old P'd off.

So, I send this guy an eMail that says:

<< <i>What you have pictured is a mint made strike-thru. It is NOT damage. >>

    And, he responds with:

<< <i>Attempt to convince pcgs of that. When & IF you do, feel free to contact me, chump >>

So, I respond to that one with:

<< <i>You're the one that doesn't know the difference between a strike-thru and
damage, and I'm the chump? LOL! BTW, the members of the PCGS forums are
laughing their asses off at you. >>

    And, his retort is:

<< <i>I know far more than you and pcgs put together. >>

    This is fun! image

Nope. But it's Yahoo, which is easy to hide behind.

Notwithstanding that it's a strike through, I agree with him/her that 68 is a too high of a grade for the coin.

    Hmmm...

The guy is crazy if he thinks that's post mint damage. But MS68 is certainly too high in my opinion.

Considering the severity and location of the strike thru, I'm thinking MS67 at best. And even then, I still wouldn't want it.

Can we get your title changed to CHUMP now?
Maybe slip some chocolate to Carol and flowers to SM1 to do it?
