Mail from an ebayer

I put an old amp on ebay last night and got this email this morning!

"I buy and sell these st 70's every week -- I will offer you TOTAL 175.00 as is shipped to chicago 60010... Your amp needs my help !!! Let me help you avoid potential neg feedback - and you help me make a Maybe few bucks... 175.00 total is fair for this one ! What say U ???"

I replied with "As I already have a bid on it I will have to forward this email to ebay and see if it is all right if I cancel my auction for you"

Of course I won't but I thought it would be fun when he opens his email...

Usually when you get offers like that, the item may go higher than you expected. Bet it goes over $175.

I don't think so. The guy tried to rip the item from the OP for half of the value, and the OP sent him back a smartarse reply. That's potential trouble. On the BBL he goes.

Perhaps you would think differently if you were ever targeted for feedback bombing.

Every time I have gotten an offer like that the ltem goes for much more. It looks like my experience is typical.

I got an email from a guy who just bad mouthed the coin I was selling and he said he was going to bid on another coin that was posted. I am still trying to figure out what his purpose for writing was. If he didn't like my coin, just don't bid on mine and bid on the one you're interested in.

I had some jerk a few years ago complain that the starting bid on one of my coins was way too much.

By the time I got to read his email the bidding on the coin had already doubled the opening bid.

I had quite a bit of fun telling him in a PC way to mind his own business and I was not going to give something of value away for nothing.

This item sold last night and with 18 secs to go the bid was 153....hm I said to myself, self you should have taken the money and ran.... but thanks to snipers it went to 272...
