Opinions on Numistrust Grading?
I recently saw a Morgan dollar on ebay graded MS-68 by Numistrust, but the scan seemed to show scratches right on the "cheek"! Is it a safe assumption that anything graded MS-nn by Numistrust should be considered 2-3 levels lower?

MS64 was really an MS63.
MS63 was about AU55... maybe even 50.
Another MS63 was MS60.
They are very generous

say it anyway.

I should have added that the photos looked even worse than my estimated grades. I was buying the coins (nice VAMs), not the slabs.

just try some numistrust graded coins and see for yourself..........nothing better than experience on the front lines
The moral of the above story is... Buy the coin, not the slab. On the upside
I now wonder if NGC and PCGS grades in the same manner. When a 200 coin submission comes into PCGS or NGC, the graders know that it's probably a very big account, so I wonder if that influences the grades. Comments?

Very bad advice Michael. I've seen enough better date Morgans and semi-keys in NTC MS63 holders that were sliders to advise against anyone new buying them, especially sight unseen.
Asfhgwt, if you are unsure how to grade Morgans, stick with PCGS, NGC and ANACS graded coins.
