At least the guy takes PayPal... Are we 100% sure this is bad? I agree it's highly suspicious. But are we 100% sure? I would say I'm only 98.9999% sure.

Technically the auction violates a rule of ebay which frowns and/or prohibits cash or wire transfers as a form of payment. All I said was stop this guy.

Although it looks suspicious (raw bust dollar from China), you have no proof that it is a scam, as your thread title says, "New Scam Artist on Ebay".

I am just trying to help out the numismatic community. You can all make your own conclusions but I know a scam when I see one.

If anyone wants to add the link to report an item to ebay and stop someone from sending $1500+ to someone via western union that would be great.

To encourage bidding.

I started a PCGS VF20 1799 Bust Dollar last week at .99. It closed at about $2100. Coins in demand sell. Starting low without a reseerve is not a risk (unless Ebay goes down).

He states WESTERN UNION and BIDPAY. He says he will accept cash and credit cards. Heck, I've received cash in the mail from people all over the world and they didn't think twice about while I shudderred when they told me they were going to do it.

BTW, you do not have to worry about him suing you. I believe, but I could be wrong, that the user agreement takes a dim view of someone interferring with another persons auctions. Ebay can render it's own judgement upon you.

Is it possible that you are a little sensitive because you had so little success selling similiar items this last month? Just wondering?
BTW, I wouldn't bid on this guys auctions, but that doesn't mean it's a scam.
