Can somone help?
I have 2 questions about some mint sets I have and have been hving trouble getting answers. I hope some of you very knowledgable folks will be kind enoughto provide me with some answers. Firstly, I have some proff sets from 1956-60 that are in still in a sealed envelope (assuming this is how they came). Does this effect their value at all? Second, I have another mint set which is different from the others from that era. It is a 1957 set, but the envelope is from the Treasury Department/office of the treasurer/Washington 25 DC, instead of the US mint in Philadelphia like the other ones I have. The envelope also has a "insured" number on it along with a DC postmark and metered stamp. The coins inside are NOT in plastic. There are 2 cardboard "plates," each containing 2 complete sets of coins, making four sets in all, 2 are 'd' and two are plain. They are tarnished since no plastic, but uncirculated, I suppose. Since it is so different than my other sets, I always wondered about it. ANyone have a info they would be willing to share? Great thanks. I am new to the site. Greetings to all.

Help, not just anybody,
Help, you know I need someone, help.
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me?
And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.

Sealed sets, especially if they are really "sealed from the mint" (but that is unlikely unless you were the original owner) do generally get a premium.
The mint set you mention...that is normal.....the 2 "pages" of coins and the tarnishing. No, they won't be in plastic.
The mint switched the way they did mint sets soon after that (I forget the actual year) but that was normal in that time period.
Really nice if they are all from the same and kept original, especially if the "tarnishing" is attractive
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
