Fingerprints

I know people don't usually like fingerprints on coins, but what if there were a way to compare them to a database, an dsee to whom they belomged. It might turn an unattractive coin into something worth having. I know this is far fetched but would you buy a coin with as print if you could put a history with it?

Only in a very far fetched set of circumstances. I would like a 1700's US coin with Thomas Jefferson's fingerprint for example. I don't want an 1800's coin with Eliasburg's print...

I was thinking along the lines of a miner or a cowboy or a farmer. Just something you could have a little history to go along with the coin.

    MrSpud,

Looks like the entire family got together to put that one in the album.

I've often wondered the same thing. I hate fingerprints, but itt would be pretty neat to know that some famous dealer or numismatist had handled it. Kind of like a signature.

I'd like a Washington quarter with Washington's fingerprint on it. That would be AWESOME!!!

Cool idea-- But, how would you validate who's fingerprint it was? As I see it, having your fingerprints on file somewhere isn't a good thing!

I think it was a great thought.

I have often pondered who may have held a particular coin of mine in the past. I wish there was a way to identify what change Abe Lincoln had in his pocket-- did he hold the Flying Eagle cent I have? That would certainly be a piece of history!!

You can get them from Coin Vault, if Robert Chambers counts as a famous dealer.
(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.

(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?
