another question for the pr 1955 flat pack experts

I have a few and one is missing the seal- there is no indication that it was cut out and resealed.

I have seen other peole (Flea-bay, show dealers) try to sell as a rarity- is there any premium?

I am asking because the half has a shot at 67-8 CAM, and may want to break it out. ( If standards have not tightened

)

I don't know about flat packs with no seal bringing a premium.

I do know a 1955 Frankie in 68 Cam will bring a good premium.

I would think that a missing seal would be similar to something like a mint set with a missing coin, the wrong coin or two coins in a pocket. It's just a packaging error (and the packaging was not done by the mint.) and not really worth any significant premium.

I own one of these 1955 proof sets missing the mint seal in the packaging. Honestly (call me a purist) I don't like it that way.
It's missing something that's supposed to be there. Why do I keep it if I don't like it? It was a gift from my dear wife...
And she felt pretty good about giving it as a gift knowing I wanted one. I didn't have the heart to tell her I hated it.

Of about fifteen 1955 flat pack proof sets I've gone through over the past year, at least five were missing the mint seal.

i dont recall any seal in it but,i could be mistaken

The missing seal in the 1955 flat pack sets is rather common. When they made the transition from box to envelope it was a new creation so quite a few shipped without it.
