Two Foreign Coins. Two Prices. 4 Questions, 4 Answers.

I have two coins. Actually, I have more. But I dunno what they are. Cuz I don't read whatever language they're in.

Here's the 1st:

I can tell it might be Japanese or Chinese. Cool if it's Japanese, I'm learning the language.

And it's in it's natural color.

this one, however, bad lighting. It's actually a shiny silver.

It is NOT COPPER.

As you can see it's silver.

What are these? How much are they worth, in US Dollars and their native amount? WHere do they come from?
Ok, I think that's more questions than 4, but I'd be pleased if you'd reply! ^_^

The second one is from Thailand, one baht from around 1987. Currently 40 baht = $1

I'm pretty sure the first one is from the Republic of China but I've been wrong before.

Yep, the first is a bronze 1 Yuan (dollar) from the Rep. of China (Taiwan), featuring Chiang Kai Shek and dated year 70 of the republic (1981).
The second is a copper-nickel Thai 1 Baht dated what looks like Buddhist Era 2532 (1989AD).
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
