I think this guy needs a new grading book....

I hope I'm not going to piss somebody off here, but this bust half is another example of "subjective grading".........

    VF.....Very Fugly.

    That coin is weird. Everything is warn smooth EXCEPT "Liberty", which looks very bold and with some luster.

    Almost like the seller tweaked the picture to make the Liberty readable, and "qualify" for a higher grade?

    Dam, that is one BUTT ULGLY ASS coin. Maybe the dip is the right trick for this one.

    Looks real, VG details, probably cleaned way in the past. Many, Many bust halves were.

    To call that a VF? It's like some of the ebay scammers that show a coin with VG details, but in the title they say: 1802 Draped Bust - $50,000 and then in the description they'll say: This coin lists for $50,000 in MS 65 but you decide the grade, as I'm not a professional.

    I am no expert here, but counterfiet trade dollars have a more even relief. Giving way to a even wear of the devices, rather than starting on the normally highest points.
    I wonder if this applies here. ?
