No offense George, but when will you guys learn? Crack the coins out and send them in raw and you'll get a much better crossover rate.

Because a PCGS 66CAM is worth less than an NGC 67CAM

I suppose if you're dealing with modern proofs. I've submitted hundreds of MS and circulated Morgans that were cracked out of Hallmark/old PCI, ANACS and NGC slabs. The crossover rate doing it that way is close to 90%.

Yeah, but are you gonna crack and submit an NGC Morgan in a 64 holder that you think could go down to 63? Obviously not, since you're probally looking for an upgrade...

from my experience, that isn't a realistic expectation with Proof Jefferson Nickels, and perhaps doubly so at the current time. though NGC tends to view the CAM/DCAM equation close to PCGS, they routinely overgrade by one point vs. the PCGS Standard------a fact i've proven over the past several years both in and out of the holder. without even seeing George's no. 10-13 coins, they would cross at 66CAM x 3 with one 66-67CAM.

i'm fast believing that the route to take nowadays is twofold, at least for me with Proof Jefferson Nickels;
1. trust my grading ability and keep the PQ coins in whatever holder they're in.
2. cross----in/out of the holder----in the reverse direction from _____ to NGC, sell at a modest discount and redirect the money.

sent 2 crackouts and went 0-2

i x at 1 grade down which was ok

The other went from PR68*CAM to PR67 !

i still can't resist the urge to buy a "PQ, looks very solid to me, has to cross ANYWHERE" NGC Proof Jefferson. i just can't get the cross.
