Lincoln Cent Grading Question
How does a finger print on a Red MS coin affect the grade. I am looking at a 09S VDB and not very good at grading coins. The coin dealer said it was a 63 or 64.

ask him to send it in to PCGS for certification and slabbing. If it comes back in the grade range he told you then buy it.
Thanks for the answer Russ. The print can be seen on Lincolns jacket and in the field in front of his face.
The reverse looks good. No prints or marks.

That's probably good for a two point drop. But, the real issue here is that this is an expensive key date coin that is raw. It's likely the coin has problems that prevent it from being graded and authenticated. It is a purchase you should avoid.

<< <i>So I'm probably looking at a MS 60 coin. To bad, If I was to buy it anyway what would be a fair offer for it.

Are you even sure it's authentic ?
Like i stated in my response above, (which you seemed to ignore) try to get the dealer to send it to PCGS for authentication and slabbing.
This is a higher end coin value wise and shouldn't be purchased raw unless you are 100% certain it's real.
