My newest purchase PL Morgan

Got this off ebay for $78 including shipping. The sellers scan was pretty poor and I was hoping it looked better in hand than the picture he posted. I believe it does. It's in a ANACS MS64-PL holder. Anyone think it might upgrade at PCGS? It really does look like a proof. I didn't use a diffusion dome for the photographs it really has the mirror fields. It also has a slight rose colored toning on the obverse upper right and the reverse lower left.

  • Its graded accurately.
  • Seems a solid 64PL..It's nice, but no 65 or DMPL depending on what you were hoping for.

The main reason this coin did not receive a higher grade (in my opinion) is haze and spotting. What looks like hits or marks on the face are really superficial and do not show up when looking at the coin in hand. There is a small scratch under the chin that does not show up in the photo. I can count about 4 hits on the entire coin obverse and reverse. The rest is light haze and some spotting. It is also a very good strike. I think it has excellent crack-out potential.
