I used "Submit Best Offer" on Ebay for the first time...

Not a coin auction, but for Norton NAV.
Seller had a BIN of $10.99 with the Submit Best Offer link right below it. I offered $7.99 and he accepted. Interesting concept, but I wonder how many truly lowball offers it generates.
Has anyone tried it on a coin auction?

I also think it encourages sellers to list at unrealistically high prices hoping for a sucker.
Knowledge is the enemy of fear
I offered $30 for a coin that was worth $40, IMHO.
The seller sent and email........some BS about wasting his time and he blocked me from his auctions....oh well!!! As
Herb
I tried it with some chucklehead who had a POS in a junk slab listed for $1,500.
I offered him $2.
He declined the offer.
